Road Resurfacing
A bid package is being prepared for resurfacing of various roads to go out for bid soon. This contract will include resurfacing portions of the following streets: Cromwell Rd., Teakwood Dr., Wilmington Island Rd., Glouchester Rd., Inglesby Ct., Redbud Ct., N. Paxton Dr., Teal Ct., Widgeon Ct., Gadwell Ln., Old River Rd., Walthour Rd., Mistwood Ln., Rustic Ln., Candleberry Ln., Candleberry t., Montgomery Cross Rd., and Red Fox Dr. Districts 1, 3, 4 & 5.

Operation Kool Breeze
Last weekend Tanya Milton, 5th District Chatham County Commissioner partnered with Chatham Emergency Services Fire Dept. and the American Red Cross to canvas Cottonvale Rd. neighborhood to install smoke alarms and provide senior citizens a box fan from "Operation Kool Breeze". We installed over 25 smoke alarms and delivered over 10 box fans to the residents.

Quacco Road Widening
Project includes widening Quacco Road to a three-lane section and constructing turn lanes from Highway 17 to Interstate 95. Board approved a new design contract with Moffatt and Nichol in July 2022 to complete
the construction plans and make necessary revisions. Right of way acquisition is complete. Permitting and design revisions are underway. Construction will begin after clearing is complete and utility relocations are underway.

I currently serve as your 5th District Chatham County Commissioner as well as as Vice President and Advertising Director of The Savannah Tribune. As a resident of the Chatham County’s 5th District since 1963, I have been deeply engaged in my community serving several organizations including, Boy Scouts of America, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of the Coastal Empire, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, American Diabetes Association, Homebuilders Association of Greater Savannah and Vice President of Savannah Jazz Association.

I am also a member of Top Ladies of Distinction Savannah Chapter, National Council of Negro Women Savannah Chapter and working towards a Lifetime Member of the Savannah Chapter of the NAACP. I am a graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia, and longtime member of Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
